21/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 21 October, the European Parliament approved with two amendments the proposal to update the own resources implementing regulation in line with the new Council Decision on own resources of 7 June 2007. Adopting the report by Alain Lamassoure (EPP-ED, France) on this text by 601 votes to 44 and 1 abstention, the EP invites the Commission to make a complete and indepth analysis of all aspects of EU spending and resources and to report back to it in 2008/2009. In accordance with the interinstitutional agreement, the European Parliament has to be fully associated with the review at all stages in full respect of its established rights, the report points out.
