Progress in accession talks

Brussels, 28/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - Croatian accession talks are continuing to make progress. Another meeting was held in Brussels on Friday 25 July 2008 at deputy level, where Croatia provisionally concluded a further chapter - enterprise policy and industrial policy. This means that Croatia has now concluded negotiations on 3 of the 35 chapters (the other two are science/research and education/culture) and the negotiators were able to begin talks on a new chapter - the free circulation of goods. In order to be able to conclude this important chapter, Croatia will have to make a considerable effort to align its legislation with EU rules and to achieve the administrative capacity required to implement EU rules, explains the EU.
