25/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - According to a survey commissioned by “Open Europe” (a British association created by a business to promote a Europe founded on straightforward cooperation without too many institutions and whose main objective would be the development of a vast liberalised European market), 71% of the Irish are against the organisation of a second referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. Twenty-four percent are in favour and the remainder are of no fixed opinion. Out of the 1,000 people who took part in the opinion poll, 62% said they would vote “no” if a second referendum were held, and 67% of respondents felt European leaders “do not respect the Irish vote” of 12 June.
