25/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 24 July, Ettore Francesco Sequi was named as the EU's Special Representative for Afghanistan. Sequi, a former Italian Ambassador to Kabul and a specialist in Islam, will take over from Francesc Vendrell, who has held the post since June 2002, on 1 September. Sequi was born in 1956 and graduated in Political Science from the University of Cagliari. (A.By/transl.rt)
