07/07/2008 (Agence Europe) -The European Commissioner for Competition, Neelie Kroes, and the Norwegian Minister for Administration and Reform, Heidi Grande Røys, met on 2 and 3 July for an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest concerning competition and State aid. Norway, along with Iceland and Liechtenstein, is a full participant in the discussions of the European Competition Network. The Commissioner and the Minister discussed the state of play of competition in the information and communication technology sector, the Commission's White Paper on private actions against cartels, the new settlement procedure (see EUROPE 9690) and developments in Norway's measures to combat cartels. Ms Grande Røys also expressed Norway's hopes of being included in the Commission's State aid scoreboard. (C.D./trans.fl)
