Council agrees on conditions of detention and expulsion of illegal immigrants - EP has still to be convinced

Brussels, 23/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - The committee of permanent representatives of member states within the EU (Coreper) gave its support, during the evening of Thursday 22 May, for the Slovenian EU Presidency's compromise text on the proposal for a directive establishing procedures for the expulsion of illegal immigrants.
