20/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the creation of a new company OOO RusVinyl, jointly controlled by SolVin GmbH & Co of Germany, belonging to the Solvay group, and OJSC Sibur Holding of Russia. OOO RusVinyl will produce and market caustic soda and polyvinyl chloride. In a separate transaction, the Commission granted clearance to the acquisition of sole control of Fegro/Selgros Gesellschaft für Großhandel mbH & Co. (Fegro/Selgros) of Germany by Rewe Großflächengesellschaft mbH (Rewe) of Germany. Rewe is active in the retail and wholesale of daily consumer goods and also tourism, mainly in Germany. Fegro/Selgros operates cash & carry markets, mainly in Germany, Poland and Romania. Both transactions were approved on Monday 19 May after examination under the simplified merger review procedure.
