25/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) has protested against the European Parliament's decision not to publish details of the internal audit report on its members' expenses. During the vote on discharge for 2006, the EP rejected an amendment by Belgian Green member Bart Staes, who called for the report to be published above all bringing into question the way funds for parliamentary assistants are used. It is a “shameful cover-up”, EFJ states. (L.G.)
