25/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 23 April, the European Parliament approved codification of the regulation concerning certain categories of agreements between maritime line companies (“consortia”), which provides for exemption to European competition rules for concerted practice between such companies (see EUROPE 7626). The report by Joanna Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg (PES, Poland) on this issue was adopted by a large majority (489 votes to 10 and 5 abstentions). (A.By.)
