06/03/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 6 March 2008, the ECB Governing Council approved the ECB's certified accounts for the financial period ending 31 December 2007. The ECB had a surplus of €286 million in 2007 compared to €1,379 million in 2006. This fall is above all due to the euro's rise in value compared to the US dollar and, to a lesser extent, to the yen.
