05/03/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 5 March, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the University of Luxembourg signed an agreement making documentary artefacts available to the EIB. This library will initially include around 10,000 documents, testimony to the different business activities and EIB priorities and strategies since 1958 when the bank was set up. EIB documents will be made available to researchers and remain accessible bank personnel. In practice, this will mean the “European Studies Library” will initially be based at the Faculty of literature, human sciences, arts and education sciences at the Walferdange campus university. Later on it may be relocated to the Esch-Belval site in an effort to better accommodate the EIB collection. (O.L.)
