14/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - On 12 February, EU Industry Commissioner Gunter Verheugen and Turkey's Permanent Representative to the EU, Volkan Bozkir, signed a protocol to the agreement whereby Turkey joined the 'Entrepreneurship and Innovation' section of the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP) for 2007-2013 (see EUROPE 9286 and 8923). Turkey is the third candidate country, after Croatia and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), to join the CIP. (E.H.)
