11/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - With the changes to the agenda of the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg from 14-17 January, voting on the “return” directive will, indeed, be delayed. The vote has now been scheduled for the session from 19-22 May. This delay, confirmed by the Conference of the Presidents of the political groups within the EP on 10 January, should allow MEPs to reach a first reading agreement with the Council (see EUROPE 9576).
