05/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank has just granted two loans to Italian energy company Eni to finance strategic projects. The first, worth €200 million, is to co-finance the construction of a combined cycle (electricity and heat) power plant just outside the city of Ferrara. The second loan, worth €185 million is for the expansion of the Transmed Gas Pipeline, which will improve the supply of Algerian gas, across Tunisia, to Italy and the EU. (O.L.)
