05/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 4 December, the European Commission announced that it was in discussion with EU member states to try to find a way to improve the protocol to the EU-Mauritania fisheries agreement. Some fishing possibilities are being under-used, thus posing problems for Community operators. The six-year agreement, which came into effect on 1 August 2006, provides 200 EU vessels with fishing possibilities for tuna, crustaceans (particularly shrimps), hake, cephalopods...
