05/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - With a reduction of nearly a percentage point, Poland has taken the measures necessary to correct its excessive deficit in 2007, the Council of the EU stated on Tuesday 4 December. Following the recommendation of the Commission (EUROPE 9375), it nonetheless observed major risks of slipping back in 2008, and calls on the Polish authorities to present an updated convergence programme for 2008-2010, containing plans for a sustainable correction.
