30/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 28 November 2007, the European Commission cleared the planned acquisition of Mitsui Motor Polskia SP.Z.O.O. of Poland, Yamaha Motor Deutschland GMBH of Germany and Yamaha Motor UK Ltd by Yamaha Motor Europe N.V., part of the Yamaha Motor Corporation of Japan. The target companies are active in the wholesale distribution of Yamaha products, principally motorcycles, scooters, marine outboard engines, inflatable boats, jetskis, all-terrain vehicles, golf carts, generators and snowmobiles, in Poland, Germany and the UK. The deal is unlikely to change the competitive balance on the markets because the target companies already have exclusive distribution rights for all Yamaha products. (C.D.)
