30/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Centre of Enterprises with Public Participation (CEEP) is organising a conference in Brussels on 4 December 2007 on 'Services of General Interest and the Internal Market: Contradiction or Conciliation?' to look at the role of services of general interest (SGI) in the Reform Treaty and the review of the internal market (see EUROPE 9547); the criteria for successful integration of the SGI in the single market through use of the in house concept and institutionalised public-private-partnerships; and social services of general interest in internal market and competition legislation and the exclusion of social services of general interest from the Services Directive.
