30/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - A preliminary WTO report submitted confidentially to the parties this week supports Ecuador (and other countries which produce “dollar bananas”) which is contesting the validity of the Community banana import scheme (EUROPE 9459). The complainants think that the EU's customs duties (€176 per tonne for bananas from outside the ACP area) are too high. (L.C.)
