03/10/2007 (Agence Europe): On 2 October, the Council reached a general approach on the proposed directive on the management of the safety of road infrastructure (see EUROPE 9280 and 9461). It maintains in place the binding nature of the text, but not the annexes. For reasons relating to the principle of subsidiarity, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Sweden kept their reservations in place, as did the Commission, which is waiting for the opinion of the Parliament.
