02/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - During his appointment to the post of IMF Director General on 28 September Dominique Strauss-Kahn declared that he was strengthened by the, “very broad support I enjoyed, particularly from developing and low income countries. I am determined to begin the reforms that the International Monetary Fund needs without delay, in an effort to implement financial stability for people, growth and jobs”. The former minister of the economy and finance in the government of Lionel Jospin also thanked Jean-Claude Juncker: “thanks to whom everything began; Nicolas Sarkozy, on France's behalf lent strong support to my candidacy; the ministers of the European Union had confidence in me as did all those who, and in more broader terms, voted for me”.
