24/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - In a presidency declaration on 21 September, the “European Union welcomes the peaceful, orderly and transparent electoral process which has followed the presidential run-off elections of 8 September, leading to the announcement of the final election results on 17 September”. Congratulating the elected president of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma, the EU27 call for close cooperation and strengthened political dialogue between the new government and the EU. (ab)
