05/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - The kick-off for the global health partnership in developing countries was given in London on 5 September. The result of a joint initiative by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the partnership aims to speed up achievement of the Millennium Development Goal to reduce infant and maternal mortality, and to contain diseases such as HIV/AIDS.
