The French TRANSDEV company, an associate of the Dutch BNG bank, has bought a 66.7% stake in the capital of the biggest public transport operator in the Netherlands, CONNEXXION, for between €350 and €400. The Dutch state keeps control of the rest of the capital but Transdev will have first right of refusal on the remaining stake in five years time. This acquisition means that TRANSDEV should be able to double its turnover to €2bn in 2007.
