The Chilean aeronautics company, LAN, has announced an investment plan of around $2.6 billion between now and 2011, which will cover the purchase of 52 aircraft, including 40 Airbus. The company's fleet will achieve a level of 115 aircraft (102 commercial aircraft, the rest dedicated to freight). The purchase of four Boeing 777s for freight, and 36 Airbus A320, 4 Airbus A340 and 8 Boeing 767-300 is also being looked into.
