05/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - Poland hopes to take advantage of the upcoming constitutional talks for renegotiating the system of double majority in the Council, according to Marek Cichocki, advisor to President Lech Kaczynski. “We are critical of the double majority system. We would prefer something between the Nice Treaty and the double majority proposed by the constitutional treaty”, he told Reuters. Warsaw will be presenting its own vision of the future treaty in March. (hb)
