09/01/2007 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Markos Kyprianou, MEPs Françoise Grossetête (UMP, France), Jolanta Dickute (ALDE, Lithuania) and Glenis Willmott (Labour, UK), and former British parliamentarian Imenda Read will take part in the launch of the first cervical cancer prevention week, at the European Parliament in Brussels on Tuesday 23 January. In Europe, some 175,000 women suffer from cervical cancer, and every year 25,000 women die from the disease. (oj)
