02/01/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided on 29 December 2006 to grant €2 million emergency aid for the victims of typhoons that have struck the Philippines over the last four months. The aid will focus on the provision of drinking water, hygiene promotion and sanitation facilities, as well as the distribution of non-food items and shelter repair. (hb)
