Joint Parliamentary Assembly sends strong message to EU on development dimension of economic partnership agreements but fails to agree on situation in Eastern Africa

Bridgetown, 24/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - The work of the 70 MEPs and their counterparts from the ACP (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific) states linked to the EU under the Cotonou Agreement ended in Barbados on Thursday with a Joint Parliamentary Assembly (JPA) particularly rich in political debate, comical incidents and contrasted results.
