14/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - Forza Italia MEP Marcello Vernola says that in response to a written question he sent to the European Commission about the deconsecration of 520 Christian sites in Cyprus by Turkish Cypriots, the European Commission has pointed out that the EU provided a new fund in February 2006 to promote the economic development of the Turkish Cypriot community and is prepared to consider funding projects to rebuilt cultural heritage in the North of Cyprus.
