04/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - It is untrue to say that the European Union alone is responsible for the surfeit of regulations in Europe, says CDU MEP Inge Grässle in a press release, referring to figures on the legislative work of the Bundestag between October 2002 and October 2005. These show that, over the three years, 385 laws came into effect in Germany, 139 of which because of the EU, says Ms Grässle, adding that during the first eight months of the present parliament, 37 laws have been promulgated, 12 of which were European in origin, and on 4 July 2006, 239 Bills, 59 of which came from Europe, were being processed in the Bundestag or the Bundesrat.
