The French company DANONE has gained a 22.18% stake in the Chinese fruit juice grouped HUI YUAN JUICE (turnover equivalent to €140 million in 2005 with 2.16 million tonnes of fruit and vegetables produced, with 6,500 employees), market leader in China, with market share of 17%. The amount paid for the deal was not disclosed. DANONE has a turnover of almost €1.2 bn in China, 93% of which comes from drinks.
