31/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - As expected, on Monday 29 May, the Council of Ministers gave its formal approval to the operation plan (OPPLAN) which provides the framework and the rules of engagement for the deployment of troops in support of MONUC during the election period in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is the final stage before the Council's decision launching the deployment, planned for 12 June.
