Brussels, 09/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - Neelie Kroes (EUROPE 8963) has declared in a press release that consultation on the European Commission's action plan on state aid reform has led to 130 contributions, which, altogether, support the initiative for less and better targeted state aid. Among the reforms begun by her predecessor, Mario Monti, the Commissioner for competition has already reformed measures on services of general economic interest (EUROPE 8992) and regional aid (EUROPE 9095). This summer Kroes still intends to propose new guidelines on venture capital and aid for research and development and innovation, as well as a new regulation on de minimis aid (for the end of the year).
