Brussels, 26/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - Receiving Iran's chief negotiator on the nuclear dossier, Ari Larijani, in Beijing on Thursday, the Chinese authorities announced their support for Moscow's proposal for partial relocation of Iranian uranium enrichment activities to Russian soil. “We feel this proposal is a good attempt to break the deadlock”, the spokesman for the Foreign Minister, Kong Quan, said. Recalling that it did not support referral of the Iran issue to the Security Council, China also restated its opposition to possible economic sanctions against Teheran. Also, the EU-3 foreign ministers (Germany, France and the UK), as well as those of the United States, Russia and China, will meet in London during the evening of 30 January, the day before an exceptional meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board which, on 2 and 3 February, in Vienna, will declare the fate that is reserved for the Iranian nuclear dossier.
