14/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, Graham Watson, leader of the ALDE Group at the European Parliament, welcomed the ruling by the Italian appeals court on the extradition of Hussain Osman to the UK in connection with the July 21st attempted bombings in London. 'This case is a good example of suspected terrorists exploiting the free movement of persons in the EU Internal Market to flee the country,' he said, adding: 'the European Arrest Warrant is the centre-piece of EU anti-terrorism cooperation, making extradition between Member States much swifter and easier… Italy was the last EU Member State to implement the EU Arrest Warrant earlier this year, after its adoption by Council in June 2002. It is now operational in all Member States.'
