26/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - The German Green member, Cem Özdemir (of Turkish origin), will be visiting Turkey from 29 July to 1 August. His visit will take him to Tunceli, where he will view the project for a dam (which, a press release states, could “destroy part of the landscape”) and will hold talks with local NGOs, the governor and the mayors of the region. In the south-eastern part of the country, in Diyarbakir, Mr Özdemir will meet the governor, and in Hasankeyf, he will visit another dam project (which, the press release states, could cause flooding).
