Brussels, 10/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - Wednesday's meeting of the EU-China Ministerial Troika, with Luxembourg minister for foreign affairs and acting president of the Council Jean Asselborn, as well as Benita Ferrero Waldner the Commissioner for external affairs and China represented by head of diplomacy Li Zhaoxing. It will mark the 30th anniversary of EU-China diplomatic relations. Discussions will focus on bilateral relations and preparations for the next (EUROPE 8844), EU/China summit decided on 8 December, as well as international questions on Taiwan, North Korea, Burma/Myanmar and reform of the UN. Janez Potocnik will be in China on 12-13 may. The Commission is expected to meet Xu Guanhua to discuss scientific cooperation between the Union and China.
