Member States agree to fast track reform of GSP to 1 April 2005 to help tsunami-hit countries

Brussels, 21/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - In the 133 Committee of high-ranking trade officials on Friday, the Member States have their support for a Commission proposal to fast track the reform of the EU's Generalised System of Preferences (GSP), which will improve access to the EU market for imports from - among others - tsunami-hit countries. A spokesperson for European Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson said the objective was to advance the entry into force of GSP reform from 1 July to 1...
