07/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - Fred Higgs, Secretary General of the International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions (ICEM) will be attending the European Parliament on Wednesday, together with Irish Socialist Proinsias De Rossa for a press conference to denounce the "death threats and extortion" directed against the Colombian coal miners. Their union is currently in wage negotiations with a multinational consortium. (Info: emckay@europarl.eu.int).
