Romano Prodi in Slovakia to hand over questionnaire to be used for Commission's opinion

Brussels, 30/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - President Prodi will be on an official visit to Skopje on 1 October, to hand the Macedonian government the questionnaire which the European Commission will use to draw up its opinion on Macedonia's application for EU membership. On 17 May, after Skopje presented its accession request, the Council of the EU called upon the Commission to present its opinion, having verified whether Macedonia fulfils the criteria for accession.
