10/08/2004 (Agence Europe) - Swedish prime minister Goeran Persson has told the Swedish press agency TT that he may suggest cutting excise duty on alcohol. The government is awaiting the outcome of a report before unveiling new legislation, he said. The aim is to cut down on fraud, which has risen since the Baltic States joined the EU (where alcohol is cheaper than in Scandinavia).
