Mr Manservisi to be Director General for Development

Brussels, 30/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission decided to appoint the Italian civil servant Stefano Manservisi to the post of Director General for Development. Mr Manservisi, 49, joined the Commission in 1983, having worked at the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade. In June 2000, he became the chef de cabinet of President Romano Prodi. He has worked in the field of development for fifteen years.
