Brussels, 14/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Belgian airline company, Virgin Express Holdings PLC, announced on Thursday that it had filed a complaint on 24 May against its Italian rival, Alitalia Spa, which it accuses of proposing prices below costs on two flight connections, Brussels-Milan and Brussels-Rome. The European Commission will respond in due course, Amélia Torres, spokesperson for Competition Commissioner Mario Monti, said. According to Reuters, Virgin said in its correspondence that all analyses show that Alitalia is following a price strategy in violation of all the principles of fair competition on connections where Virgin Express is present.
