07/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - According to a survey carried out by The Centre, 70.59% of the people taking part consider that the European Parliament should have a single seat in Brussels. Also, those questioned - representative of European institutions, local and regional governments and administrations, journalists, academics, young people working in the private sector and in civil society organisations - say they intend to go and vote en masse at the European elections this week: 91.9% compared to the 49% at the last European Parliament survey (see EUROPE of 5 June, p.6). Also, 68.44% of respondents consider the European Parliament should have more to say in the new policy fields, but 73.3% consider that the Parliament does not communicate as well as it should with the public.
