12/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - According to the estimates published on 9 January by Eurostat, the volume of retail sales remained unchanged in the euro zone in October 2003, compared to October 2002, but increased 1.1% in the Union of fifteen over this period. The EU's Statistical Office states that the sales index progressed 0.5% in both areas last October, compared to the previous month.
