27/08/2003 (Agence Europe) - The EU High Representative for CFSP, Javier Solana, has congratulated Paul Kagame on winning the presidential elections held in Rwanda on 25 August, noting “remarkable progress” in reconstructing and reuniting the country following the 1994 genocide. He hoped Kagame would continue to make the necessary effort to ensure a stable, peaceful and prosperous future for his country (see also yesterday's EUROPE, p.4).
