16/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - According to two reports published by Eurostat on 14 July, 163 million people were employed in the EU in Spring 2002, an increase of 1.7 million compared to Spring 2001. The corresponding employment rate has gone from 63.9% in 2001 to 64.2 in 2002. The employment rate for women has risen from 54.8% to 55.5%.
