GENERAL NEWS / (eu) ep/services of general interest

22/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - CDU MEP Werner Langen welcomed the European Commission's presentation of the Green Paper on services of general interest but regretted that the discussion had taken so long (see EUROPE 22 May p 10). The MEP believed that the majority of Parliament might support the Commission's guidelines. He also said that he recognised the "writing of Mr Monti " in the Green Paper".
