12/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed two financing contracts in Gothenburg, Sweden. The first concerns a project to modernise the Götaleden, a highly used urban road crossing the town centre. The EIB will contribute up to 1.6 billion Swedish crowns (EUR 166 million). The second contract covers a loan of 465 million crowns (EUR 54 million) granted to the town of Gothenburg for the funding of waste collection, treatment and elimination installations in the town and the surrounding area.
